This article will tackle features in the Affiliate program that enables the user to edit the commission rate they provide to Creators.
These features depend on the situation and should be used with caution. To get you started, we will go over the following feature: “Delaying Commission Rates Changes”

Delaying Commission Rate Changes
This affiliate feature aims to stabilize the commission rate that the Seller sets for Creators. This helps Sellers get less negative feedback from Creators stemming from multiple commission changes for one product.
Any commission decrease to products will apply to promoting Creators after 30 days. However, new Creators will promote your products under the new commission rate.
Product 1 is currently in Open Collaboration for a 15% commission rate. Seller proceeds to lower the rate to 12%, what will happen?
Old Creators who have the product in their content/showcase before the change will get a 15% commission rate for 30 days. After the lockdown period, they will receive 12% commission.
New Creators who add the product after the change will receive 12% commission.
Sellers that decrease their product’s commission will receive a notification like the one shown below:

Once the seller confirms the changes, they can hover over the product’s commission rate and check the previous commission rates that are still active for certain Creators.

On the hover window, the seller can click on View Details. A window for Commission details will provide further information on all the active commission rates the seller has.
Note: A Seller can continue to change the commission for new creators multiple times, they are not locked down from changing the commission.
One (1) product can be in open collaboration under different commission rates because it’s possible that multiple Creators start promoting the same product during its multiple changes in commission rate.

Postponed Notification for Multiple Products
When changing the commission rate for multiple products, it will alert the seller about if Creators are still promoting their products with the current commission rate.
